NUTRIENTS
Nutrients are compounds in food that provide you with energy to facilitate repair and growth in your body. Nutrients are the main source of energy for the body. It helps build and repair body tissues.
There are seven essential nutrients:
Protein is important for keeping your muscles healthy. Protein deficiency will result in damaged hair and nails.
Fats are essential for your body, they help maintain brain function, regulates body temperature, and digestion.
Vitamins come in a variety, and each vitamin had a different purpose for your body.
Minerals are inorganic chemicals that repair cell tissues and promote growth in the body.
Carbohydrates, or carbs, get bad reputation but they keep the nervous system healthy.
Fiber keeps digestion healthy, ensures healthy bowel movements, and lowers cholesterol.
Drink water to avoid dehydration. Our bodies are made of 70% water.

WHERE TO GET YOUR NUTRIENTS?
Common food sources for each nutrient:
PROTEIN
Red meats, poultry, beans, eggs, dairy, soy, nuts, some grains
FATS
Nuts, seeds, fish, vegetable oils, cooking oils
CARBOHYDRATES
Quinoa, brown rice, vegetables, pasta. bread, oatmeal, fruits
FIBER
Beans, almonds, avocado, raspberry, green peas, kiwi, broccoli, kale, brown rice, oatmeal
WATER
Avoid sodas and sugary drinks
